What does it mean to be academically proficient? The BC Ministry of Education has implemented a new Reporting Order which emphasizes the use of a proficiency scale (Emerging, Developing, Proficient and Extending) to be used to assess student learning. Senior School teachers will be using this scale to communicate students’ achievement and progress.
Meet with Genny Lee, Director of Senior School, Kara Macdonald, Deputy Head of School and Katrina O’Connor, Assistant Director of Senior School to learn about how YHS is implementing the scale to promote a greater understanding of student achievement. This will be the first of a series of Coffee Talks that focus on student learning, academic success and well-being.
