Rewriting the Definition of Excellence

York House School was founded by seven fearless women who envisioned a bolder future for girls’ education.

In a world where students are compelled to conform, we’re showing every Yorkie that your unique spark is your strength. Introverts, risk-takers, scholars, athletes, and artists can all flourish here.

Our approach to academic excellence is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and BC Curriculum, supplemented by Advanced Placement courses, Capstone projects, and electives through the Global Online Academy.

This supportive community is built on a foundation of trust and acceptance, with teacher-to-student ratios that create open spaces for thinking and growing with hands-on support.

Students come to York House in search of academic achievement, but the most memorable lessons happen beyond tests and textbooks. Deepen your empathy and connection to others through Community Learning. Work with future scientists in the STEAM Lab. Start your own club. At York House, there are infinite paths to fulfillment—and no wrong turns.

The Value of All-Girls Schools

Research shows that graduates of girls’ schools have greater community involvement, cultural competency, and political engagement.

Compared to girls who attend co-ed schools, they are more likely to consider majoring in math, science, technology, or engineering and shape the future of STEAM. At York House, female-identifying students unapologetically take up space and learn the power of their voice.

Why attend an all-girls school?

We believe a school for girls is better than a school with girls. When female-identifying students occupy every seat—from the classroom to the athletic field to the engineering lab—they know deep down there’s nothing that can stand in their way. We send that message to our students every day. Yorkies define their own meaning of success and form lifelong friendships in a culture of collaboration, compassion, empathy, and resilience.
