Q & A

What advice would you give your high school self about the path that you've chosen?
Explore careers opportunities from a young age to figure out what you like and what you don’t. But most importantly, go with your instincts and follow your passion.

What was the one thing/person that most influenced the career you have now?
My practicum at a Rankin & Bond, a criminal and immigration firm, had the most impact on the career I have now. After completing this practicum I realized that law school was not the right career choice for me, so I decided to go with my passion and pursue PR.

What is the most valuable career advice you have received?
Don’t be afraid to try something new and make mistakes. Take every opportunity as a learning experience and grow from it.

What is the most important thing that you learned at York House that has helped you to succeed in your career?
Out of everything I learned at YHS, the organizational skills and learning how to maintain a life-work balance would be the two most important things I learned. Especially with my career, both skills are very important.

What’s your most vivid memory of your time at YHS?
After 13 years at YHS it’s hard to pick just one! But my personal favourite would have to be spirit week! It was always such a fun time of the school year.
