Q & A

What advice would you give your high school self about the path that you've chosen?
Don’t ever doubt your talents and abilities. I’ve let fear and a lack of confidence get in my way of achieving what I really want to do in life. Imposter syndrome is the worst! Believe in yourself!

What was the one thing/person that most influenced the career you have now?
Every job I’ve had has influenced me, but my volunteer work with Ladies Learning Code and Women Who Code have both made me realize to be strong, confident, and focused to succeed. I take lots of art and creative courses, as that’s my passion. I’ve taken courses in comic books/graphic novels, pottery, painting, and voice over acting. I’m a very creative person, so I need to exercise that talent or else I’ll go crazy. Balance is very important to me so I need to feel like I am developing and working towards my personal goals. A job is just a job!

What is the most valuable career advice you have received?
Anything my mom tells me – she works in HR and Career Development.

What is the most important thing that you learned at York House that has helped you to succeed in your career?
“Not for ourselves alone”! I take that motto with me into all of my job roles, and my life. Companies, brands, products, etc. aren’t built alone. Working in a team leads to stronger ideas.

What’s your most vivid memory of your time at YHS?
Sports days were always quite a bit of fun.

Who was the most influential person at York House School for you and why?
Ms. Lee, my Social Studies and Law teacher. She was so friendly and pushed us to achieve.
