Thank you to our alumnae for sharing their thoughts, their experiences, and the interesting journeys that have led them to live a life filled with purpose and joy. Our future graduates have much to learn from the words of wisdom and life experiences that our alumnae have so graciously shared with us.   • Salima Remtulla ’00

    Salima Remtulla, CFA is a finance executive with international experience directing corporate strategy and building high‐performance teams. Currently, she is Vice President, Operations & Corporate Strategy at Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel, where she drives organizational change. This involves everything from implementing new technology to empowering support teams and assessing strategic threats and opportunities. Previously, Salima was the COO of Global Private Investing at the D. E. Shaw Group, a global hedge fund headquartered in New York City. She is a graduate of Yale University and a Palmer Scholar of the Wharton School of Business, from which she holds an MBA. In the community, Salima serves on the board of the Vancouver Hospice Society, on a strategic Think Tank in the Ismaili Community, and on the Royal Columbian Hospital’s Redevelopment Cabinet. As one of Canada’s young leaders, she was selected to attend the prestigious Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference in 2017 and was recently named one of Business in Vancouver’s Top Forty Under 40. Salima is passionate about new experiences, keyboard shortcuts, travel, and dance (the kind that’s inspired when nobody’s watching).

  • Robyn Wilson '05

    Robyn Wilson graduated from York House in 2005 and did her undergraduate degree at Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec. While there, she played basketball on athletic and academic scholarship. She graduated with an honours degree in International Political Economy, with minors in Psychology and Public Administration. Robyn is currently the Chief Operations Officer of Venue Kings Ticket Brokers, Inc. in Vancouver. When she started with the company, they were a three-person operation. Venue Kings has now grown to 26 team members and was just rated one of the fastest growing companies in BC and Canada. Robyn’s day-to-day duties include everything that keeps the company running, but is not limited to marketing, human resources, business development, financial analysis, web development, and customer relations, etc. She is also currently in the second year of her MBA at the Sauder School of Business at UBC and was recently named one of BC Business Magazine's Top 30 Under 30.

  • Taline Arslanyan '07

    Taline Arslanyan, graduate of 2007 and Yorkie lifer, has explored different directions with her career, but the common thread throughout has been that they all focus around her passion: people. It was always her dream to work in an advertising agency. Upon completing her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Concordia University in Montreal, Taline began her career in Public Relations at a small agency in Toronto. After a year, she decided to move back to Vancouver where she accepted a career in recruitment. A few years later, she began working as a recruiter at Hootsuite Inc., where she filled her day by connecting and recruiting top talent for Hootsuite’s Global offices. It is through this position that she saw an opportunity to develop herself in a new capacity and pursue a position in Sales at Hootsuite, selling Social Media Management Software to companies to help them grow their businesses. Taline is currently an Inside Account Executive at Hootsuite Inc.

  • Natalee Sinclair '06

    After graduating from YHS, Class President Natalee Sinclair ’06 attended the University of British Columbia earning a Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) in Life Sciences and a minor in Commerce. She worked for Buntain Insurance Agencies Ltd. a family-owned insurance brokerage. Focusing on personal insurance, she remained with Buntain, acting as the Personal Lines Manager, until 2013. Natalee transitioned to a larger national insurance brokerage, Jones Brown Inc, where she concentrated exclusively on high net worth clients. Recently, Natalee successfully completed her full-time Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Copenhagen Business School (CBS). Upon returning to Vancouver, she accepted a position as manager for strategic projects with Jones Brown. Natalee is currently working as the Project Manager for the Policies and Procedures Manual (PPM), utilizing her 10 years of experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry and recently acquired MBA toolkit to develop materials and resources, and to deliver training and coaching presentations to over 150 employees across Canada.

  • Rachelle Topham '10

    Graduating in 2010 from York House School, Rachelle Topham attended the University of Victoria for two years where she studied humanities. She then decided to pursue a career in sales and marketing. She attended the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where she graduated with a diploma in Marketing Management: Professional Sales and received her Bachelor of Business Administration. Today, Rachelle works for SAP, a global software organization with over 80,000 employees worldwide. SAP helps companies gain complete visibility across their organization through the use of software solutions that include human resources, enterprise resource planning, and analytics. Rachelle is a business development representative who prospects new business, which allows her to work closely with potential clients, the sales team, and value engineers.

  • Alexandria Dhillon '10

    While working with the Donnelly Group at their various clubs and restaurants, Alexandria Dhillon '10 developed a keen interest in event planning, public relations, and promotions. In 2015, she graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology and a President's Honour. Upon completion of her degree, she joined a PR Agency called Neesh Communications, where she honed her skills in social media, event management, and planning. Alexandria continued her studies in public relations at Simon Fraser University and currently works as at the Sociable Society as the Public Relations & Social Media Coordinator, most recently taking the role as the Talent and Campaign Coordinator for Canada.

  • Zoe Alexander '02

    Zoe Alexander '02 has had more career changes than a cat has lives, and continues to explore all possible avenues of creativity and entrepreneurship. She is the Co-Director and Co-Founder of Women Who Code where she organizes and develops workshops to empower female software developers and engineers. Zoe's background is in the arts, visual design and fashion, and she hopes to open her own design studio someday.
